Recently, CNBC published an article listing 10 new careers for the 50+ workforce to consider. Our team approached the list with skepticism. We often see careers appearing in such "top 10" list based on earning potential with little care being given to transition time and costs associated with launching in the new direction.

While it may be true that demand is on the rise for doctors who specialize in gerontology, not many of our clients are about to start medical school to pursue this occupation.

Promoted as a list for career changers who are 50+, we think the list provides good food for thought to any experienced professional, regardless of age, who is looking to transition into a less corporate role. While most of the jobs profiled will require some retraining and investment, most can be accomplished within a short time frame while you continue working in your current role.
