Make Career Resolutions You Will Keep

calendar changing from 2011 to 2012

Studies have indicated that you will be more successful in keeping your resolutions if you include a deadline for taking the first step.

People who take action by January 17th are more likely to "stick with it" than those who have not started by that date.

If your resolutions involve changes at work, you might consider including setting a deadline to accomplish the first steps. Some ideas might include:

  • Reading a book focused on the type of change you are considering
  • Having a career-related conversation with family and friends to get their views on your talents, needs and passions
  • Getting out and meet others who have made a similar resolution

If getting out sounds appealing, we hope you'll join us on January 17th (that magical day!) for drinks after work and casual conversation.

You'll mingle with others exploring new careers and have a chance to meet members of our community. No cost, formal program, speeches, commitments or expectations. Just a fun, interesting evening guaranteed to inspire and motivate you to continue with your resolution.

As an added bonus, simply by registering and attending you will have taken that critical first step towards success.

Have a very Happy New Year. Here's to making bold resolutions and taking the first steps to seeing them through.
