Random Acts of Kindness in the Workplace

Wrapped package left at the doorstep

When I first read that a 16 year old in the US had decided to blog about her experience doing a different random act of kindness each day for the month of February I was intrigued. When I saw on her blog that over 400,000 other people had joined her in this project I was excited.

Technology has provided us with an amazing ability to start movements and mobilize groups around causes. But even with all of the pointing and clicking and liking and friending and tweeting at the end of the day simple little acts that show you have noticed someone else make all the difference in the world.

I'm working with a few companies over the next 2 weeks to give them a structure and suggestions for how they might have employees complete 29 Acts of Kindness. I am certain that this simple yet very motivating focus on doing good will lead to many more acts in the future.

In return, I am asking for one of the Acts of Kindness to be a contribution of any type (financial, children's book donations, etc) to Challenge Factory's corporate charity: Homeward Bound.  If you'd like to have your team work on this fun initiative, let me know. I'd be happy to help you get it set up quickly and easily.

I look so forward to hearing how the recipients of the Acts of Kindness react!
