Retirement EXPOSED: Working Past 50

Come hear the real story about what people are doing in their careers over 50. An evening of information and exploration. We will share and discuss the latest research in career patterns for Boomers. Then, over a 3 course dinner, meet 3 separate successful career changers who landed their encore gigs after the age of 50.

We will be joined by: Michael, Carol-Ann and Sara.

Michael worked in the executive search practice of a tier one consulting firm and then was a partner in a boutique executive search firm before deciding to make a change in his career. Leaving the comfort of a 25 year career in executive search, he is now a business mediator and the owner of one of the largest (and certainly the best!) national photography companies in the country.

Carol-Ann had a long and successful career in HR and corporate training working for companies such as Hudson's Bay and Pitney Bowes. She left the corporate world for entrepreneurship in 2003 - cold-turkey - without a padded bank account or full client roster at a very transitional time in her life and won a Courage Award for Professional Business Excellence as a result in October 2011. Carol-Ann has her own business focusing on performance and leadership coaching.

Sara was a University Lecturer who left academia to raise her family. In 2010 as her youngest child started to prepare for post-secondary education she turned to Challenge Factory to help her find a new career. Sara has held many (many!) volunteer Executive roles for local, National and International organizations. She has just completed a Diploma program in Volunteer Management and is currently completing her work placement at Baycrest.
