Join Lisa Taylor at the Canadian Association of Career Educators and Employers (CACEE) Conference.

Using practical examples, we will discuss the social, political and cultural aspects of workplaces and how to best prepare the current generation of students to enter existing structures. We will also explore creative approaches to corporate on-boarding for this cohort; identifying programs that focus not just on company orientation – but leadership readiness. Key metrics to be discussed include “time to being productive,” return on hiring investment and alumni affiliation for post-secondary institutions.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Share research and best practices from other jurisdictions related to Ontario’s impending labour shortage with a fundamental view that solutions rely on employers and educators working together.
  2. Share with employers and educators innovations and new ideas from academic and corporate settings related to the integration and rapid promotion of Generation Y workers to set common context and begin joint dialogue.
  3. Have each participant identify 1-3 key actions they can implement in their institution to better prepare students for the workforce (if an academic) or in their company to better integrate new graduates. Actions will be practical, implementable and grounded in principles of partnership and key metrics.

This workshop is part of the CACEE National Conference.
