Scott Mathison co-founded Toronto’s Queen West Animal Hospital in 2000 and in 2008 opened Dundas West Animal Hospital near High Park. Together the thriving veterinary hospitals employ over thirty individuals and offer surgical, medical and dental services to dogs and cats. Scott’s days are spent in medical appointments, in surgery and coordinating with partners and management operating the businesses. The hospitals enjoy an excellent reputation in the Toronto area and the Queen West location was recently recognized by Now Magazine as runner-up best animal hospital in city.

Scott, 43, grew up in the Toronto area with cats and in university pursued studies with wildlife ecology and disease transmission among wild animal populations. Scott received his Bachelors of Science at McGill University, a Masters of Forest Science in wildlife ecology at Yale University, and completed his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at the Ontario Veterinary College in Guelph Ontario. His professional interests include surgery and practice management. When not at Queen West, Scott can be found at his cottage on the Bruce Peninsula or in the neighbourhood with his wife and children.
