Test-Drive Your Next Career

Experience your new career without any risk

Challenge Factory is the first and only place in Canada to offer career test-drives – ensuring your chance to physically experience potential next careers as part of your decision making process.

We have over 160 experiences in almost any occupation you can imagine available for you to try.

Test-drives are not about detached observation, nor are they traditional job shadow or internship opportunities.

In your test-drive, you learn first-hand the ups and downs of the career you are considering while working with a truly successful expert in the field. Consider it a crash course focused on the areas you most need to learn about. All in a format that fits easily into your regular routine and between current work and family commitments.

Here are a few stories to give you an idea of what happens and how it leaves a lasting impact.

Mid to Late Career: Sam.  He’s a successful sales person and still has 10-15 years ahead of him in his career.  He is an avid hobbyist on the weekend and a committed father who is no longer satisfied with his worklife.  After identifying a new career in Inspire he spent the day with an Expert in his new field that ties his love of design, building and sales together.  At lunch he spoke with Challenge Factory about how the day was going:  “Lisa, this is the best day I’ve had in a long time.  I can’t believe how much I’ve learned.  The day is going by so fast – but will last me a lifetime in knowing for sure what direction I want to head in.”

Mom Returning to the Workforce: Susan.  She’s been at home raising a family for over 20 years.  With kids off at University, she wants to return to getting paid for work that she does.  Despite being an active member of her community and volunteer with leadership experience to spare she worries that her skills are out of date and no longer relevant.  She is anxious and nervous and needing a boost.  Her immersion experience reinforces her sense that “she can do this” and sets her on a path to land a job that she loves confident that she has a lot to offer.

Retiree: Joe.  A retired Principal, Joe browsed through a list of potential “challenges” to try.  He discovered three experiences that were of interest and has decided that this year, when he turns 65 he’ll do all three – spread throughout the year - as a birthday present to himself.
