Meet Our Chef!

Matthew Cassidy is a young and upcoming chef from Newmarket, Ontario with a simple yet innovative style. His credentials include Honours from the George Brown College Culinary Management Program and his Culinary Red Seal.

In addition to his formal training, Matthew has travelled throughout Europe learning traditional European cuisine and has worked in restaurants in Norway, Spain and Italy. He has worked for distinguished hotels such as the Royal York Hotel in Toronto, Ontario and Al Faisaliah Hotel in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Matthew has also worked as the Executive Chef for Maunders Food Shop in Aurora, Ontario.

He is currently managing his own catering business and teaching cooking classes.

On July 19th Challenge Factory will join Matthew in the kitchen at The Chef Upstairs and enjoy a 5 course tapas-style local and organic menu, paired with wines. Foodies and career explorer's alike will gain an insider's view to the food, wine and event planning industry!
